320kbps sound quality. Cyclone2567 4:53 AM - 29 March, 2014. So im new to djing for parties and i was wondering if there is a noticeable difference between songs at 128kbps than 320kbps. Alot of my library is 128kbps, will playing it on a PA system make the lower quality more noticeable? The rest from downloads. A while ago, I decided to switch to MP3 music instead of CD's, so I painstakingly ripped all my CD's (500+) onto my computer. It's much easier finding albums on.
All the music that is downloaded via Zune Pass is 192 kbps - there's no way to change it. You also can't convert it (it has DRM), but even if you could, it wouldn't sound any better - upconverting from a lower bitrate to a higher one doesn't gain you any sound quality, because the missing information in the lower bitrate file is already gone. When you purchase a song, you'll either get a 320 kbps MP3 (most likely) or a 256 kbps MP3 (sometimes). It's about a 75/25 ratio on 320/256 songs, in my experience. (You can't find out ahead of time which one you're going to get, unfortunately.).
